Got Doilies?

I’m back and I’ve been busy sewing together the cover and finishing the base pages for my Project 12 album using the fabulous fabric I found last weekend at this mod fabric store. Looking at this bright, cheery fabric just makes me happy and excited to fill it up. 

I decided to pair the fabric with a mix of patterns and colors from my stash.

I sewed it together using the techniques I learned from Mary Ann Moss in her Remains of the Day class. I love this type of album and can see doing a lot of these in the future. They make great journals and scrapbooks.

I finished it off using some crocheted doilies from the February Studio Calico kit and a few buttons. I used every single doily that came in the kit. I’m sad they are gone but they did add the perfect touch to this cover.

The pages for all twelve months are bound into the book with a few embellishments and pockets sewn onto the pages. All I need to do now is add my photos, journaling and the finishing touches for each month.

 

It always seems that time passes by too quickly but now I’m anxious for the end of each month so I can fill this album up. I’ll start adding my pictures and journaling to the February calendar pages this week. If anyone else is doing a Project 12 album please share. I would love to take a peek at what you are doing.
