Autumn is absolutely, hands-down, my favorite time of year. I love the cool crisp air in the mornings, the leaves changing colors, getting out my sweaters and leaving the summer heat behind me. And, every year at this time I start thinking about Thanksgiving, and being grateful for everything that I have been blessed with. I have more blessing than I can ever count. Despite that fact, I often forget just how blessed I am.
This got the wheels turning in my head. How cool would it be to have a small journal with photos and words describing the blessings in my life. Not just what I consider blessings, but those of my family too. I made a small album earlier in the year and after counting the pages - 30 to be exact - I knew this was meant to be!
The cover is made with scraps of fabric in beautiful rust, blue and yellow with the initial of our last name sewn onto it. Perfect for recording our blessings as a family.
The inside pages were made mostly from Studio Calico kit scraps, Mapsco pages, old ledgers and security envelopes. Here is the title page and a sampling of a few of the other pages.
I made another book earlier in the year for my Project 12 album that used the same process I used on this one. If your are interested in learning more about how this album was made read the Got Doilies? and January Project 12 post for more information.
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of November 1st so I can begin recording our 30 Days of Blessings. Is anyone else doing a gratitude journal? If you are, please link me up. I would love to take a look at your album.
