I've been working on my "12 Days of Christmas" album and it has me in the holiday spirit. I've never made a mini album like this before, and now that it is complete I can't wait for December to arrive so I can fill it with our 12 favorite activities of the season.
I used an old book for the cover of my album. For the title, I added a Hambly rub-on and placed the number 12 in the center. A Jenni Bowlin Bingo alphabet was used to complete the title and circles around the doily rub-on. The year was placed at the bottom using an October Afternoon alphabet.
I decided to go with something a little out of the ordinary for embellishing the remainder of the cover and reached for my trusty butterfly punches, coordinating Studio Calico butterfly stamp set and leftover paper to create butterflies in varying sizes.
Using the papers I selected for my album I cut them down to 6 x 9. I added tags and punched borders to some of the pages to complete the foundation. I'll finish embellishing the pages when I add my photos and journaling.
For the title page I added red and green Distress Stickles to the holly and berries for a nice vintage feel.
I used a couple Basic Grey Doily papers that I love. Instead of leaving the back of the doily paper white I sprayed it with mist to coordinate with the colors in the album.
I added a few sheets of ledger paper, tags, and a couple envelopes for storing the kids Christmas wish list in the album.
Now I sit staring at all this pretty paper, anxious to fill it with photos and stories.
