Happy Monday! I have a fun mini album to share with you today. I've also included a tutorial at the end of this post so you can create your own!
I made this mini album for my write. click. scrapbook March Mini Madness post that went on the blog last week. I had the pleasure of creating my mini album with the Gossamer Blue March kit. It was full of bright colors, fun embellishments and plenty of new releases from the Winter CHA show!
I decided to create a mini album of my son's wrestling season this year. Here is the cover:
I mostly used contents from the kit. You will see a few things through the album that I added from my stash, such as, Bella Blvd Designer Tapes, green star paper and a few journaling cards that coordinated with the kit. I also used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out some titles and shapes.
The mini album has a series of flaps that overlap onto one another, making it a very fun and interactive album to look through.
This is the view after opening the front cover.
This is the view after opening the second cover.
This patterned paper was perfect for using for my introductory page for the album, it already included the who, what, when, and where arrows. A real time saver! From here, just keep flipping all the folds over to reveal the next page...really fun!
Thank you to Gossamer Blue for the fabulous kit for this mini album! I really had so much fun making this and the kit was really easy to work with...it all coordinated so well together!
Ok, now on to the tutorial for creating a base for your very own mini album. First, I can not take credit for the idea of this album. I created my mini album based on instructions from the very talented Katherine McElvain at Bella Blvd.
This mini album is surprisingly easy to put together. Here is what you'll need:
- One 12 x 6 piece of cardstock
- Three 12 x 5.75 pieces of cardstock
- Two 5.5 x 5.5 pieces of cardstock
- Score the cover in 3 inches and 2.75 inches from each outer edge
- Score the inside pages in 3 inches from each outer edge
Next, lay the three inside pages side by side and adhere the flaps adhere the flaps together to create a paper chain. It should look like this when you have it glued together.
After the inside pages are adhered to the cover and you fold all the inside pages into the center of the album it will look like this.
The last step is to adhere the 5.5 inch x 5.5 inch pieces of paper to the outside flaps, to create the overlapping covers. Flip the album over and glue the panels onto the outside flaps.
Flip it back over, fold the front covers in and you are ready to insert your photos, story and coordinating scrapbook supplies!
This is the completed base. Let me know if you have any questions!
I hope you'll give this a try. It really only takes about 5 minutes to put the base together!
Make sure you head over to write. click. scrapbook to see what the rest of the team has put together for March Mini Madness month with this kit and then head over to Gossamer Blue to check out all their fabulous kits!
Have a great week everyone...make it a mini madness week and whip up one of these fun albums!
