Color Me Happy

For the love of vintage photos...

I think it is no secret that I love vintage photos! I scrap them a lot, in fact, it seems I'm scrapping vintage photos more than current photos lately. I thought it was only appropriate that i keep with my trend for the first couple layouts with the May Scrapbook Circle kit, Grandma's Attic. 

I love the retro feeling of this layout. It is definitely different than the rest of the vintage photos I have scrapped in the past and is the only photo I have that I feel really shows the clothing trends of the 60's.

This vintage photo and layout is completely different in style and has a soft romantic feeling! The pins, buttons and a few Crate paper die cuts came from my stash, but everything else is included in the kit.

Some of my favorites in the May kit are the Crate Paper Emma Phrase stickers, Hambly rub-ons, The Girl's Paperie Chip Alpha and American Crafts, Hello Sunshine Lollies! I kept reaching for those items, over and over while creating with this kit.

My First Easter

I've been so busy with work deadlines and hail damage clean up around here the last couple weeks that I've had no time for any fun in my scrap room. I do have one layout to share that I didn't have time to post during that time made using the April Scrapbook Circle kit.

 

It features a vintage photo of me in my bouncy seat watching my sister color Easter eggs.

It came together really quickly with the Crate chipboard pieces and stickers that are included with the kit. I used a lot of the chipboard with this layout and the Welcome Home Sunshine mini album and there is still a ton left.

The May Scrapbook Circle kit has arrived at my door step and it is full of new product. There is so much to love with this kit. I've started a couple layouts with more vintage photos and will post some sneaks soon! It is Scrapbook Circle's 5th Anniversary in May and there will be lots of fun activities too. More to come on that soon!

I guess the timing of this layout is appropriate with Easter just around the corner. I need to boil some eggs and do a little egg coloring with the kids, followed by deviled eggs and egg salad. So yummy!

Third times a charm!

Have you ever made a layout that you didn't like? You know the kind, one you disliked so much that you wanted to throw it away and start over? I think we have all been there, at least I would like to think so. (Please, tell me I'm not the only one that has experienced this).Fortunately, in my scrapbooking world, unlike life, I can give myself a do-over. Scrapbooking do-overs, gotta love it!

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't do this very often. In fact, I can think of only 3 photos in all the years that I have been scrapbooking that I felt the need for a scrapbooking do-over.

For instance, this photo of my Grandma with her pig. I love this photo and the story of her pig, so much so, that not only did I give myself a do-over once, but twice!

The end result of my third attempt is this layout, for Sketch #69 at Inspired Blueprints! I love how it turned out...third times a charm, right?! Make sure you go see all the other layouts created using the sketch!

On another note, I really can't believe it has been almost two weeks since I blogged. Work has been crazy for the last couple weeks. It should be smooth sailing after this next week though, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming 3-day weekend with my family! Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous week!

Welcome Home, Sunshine! Mini Album

The April kit at Scrapbook Circle includes a fabulous kraft file folder that I used to create a mini album. I eventually settled on the theme of bringing our daughter home from the hospital and welcoming her into our family. The included Crate chipboard pieces and stickers fit the theme perfectly.

I like how it includes a photo of our immediate family and all the grandparents and great grandparents. It was a great way to showcase, similar photos together. It is packed with new goodies from CHA. Everything used to create this mini album is included in the April Scrapbook Circle kit with the exception of a few Crate phrase stickers and the green alphabet. Head over to Scrapbook Circle to pick up your kit and see the other designer's projects in the Hello, Sunshine! idea gallery.

Inspired Blueprints Design Team Reveal

Scrapbook Circle April layouts and a winner

Scrapbook Circle's April kit, Hello, Sunshine! is available and it is packed with some really fun papers.

I love the Bella Blvd wood grain and playing card patterned paper prints together. They are a "perfect pair!" Hehehehe...just couldn't resist that one. I used the Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphabet letters for the quote. For the words I wanted to highlight I placed them on scraps of the leftover playing card paper. It really made them stand out.

Another piece of patterned paper I loved using was the Bo Bunny Ad Lib phrases. I used a couple of them on this layout and will be hoarding saving the rest for another day. I added a couple brads and glitter dots from my stash but everything else you see here is included in the Hello, Sunshine kit.

Cute LO! Love the pup & shhh! I am just starting out & don't have much (newly Unemployed too :(
But I am using what little I have on hand and later today I plan to try sewing on a set of cards I am making for OWH. Wish me luck on that one, I have only been brave enough to sew on scraps so far!
