Do you ever wonder what to do with those hospital baby photos? They aren't usually great pictures but I do like the novelty of them. A couple weeks ago I shared a layout using my daughter's hospital picture. I had originally planned to do the exact same design for my son's hospital photo but ended up going a different route.

I decided to incorporate a sketch challenge and graphic challenge that was posted at Studio Calico for National Scrapbooking Day. I used my Cameo to cut out the stars on the background and then cut some stars from patterned paper to fill in some of the cut-outs.

Are you looking for more ideas using those baby hospital photos? Check out the layout I did that includes a baby photo of each person in our family! I really love seeing those four photos on one page to see resemblences in our features.

He said, she said...

It seems I'm usually reaching for my iPhone for pictures now a days, but I actually pulled out the big 'ole DSLR to take some photos of the kids the other day. It got me thinking how in no time at all they will be off to college.

Anyway, the scrapbooker in me thought, it would be fun to do a layout recording where they think they will go to college and what they will do once they graduate. I came up with 3 questions related to college and careers and had them write in their answers.

It will be interesting to look back on this layout once they graduate college and enter the work force. We'll see if we really do have a law enforcer and medical professional, or not.

I've done a questionnaire a couple times before but I really should do this more often. What about you, do you get your family involved in your layouts with questionnaires?

Lift the Person Above You Challenge

Happy Friday, friends! Today I have a layout to share that I made for a "Lift the Person Above You" challenge at the Nook! Everyone that signed up to participate was tasked with lifting a layout from the person above them in the thread. I got to pick a layout from the gallery of the talented Shilo! I chose to lift this layout from her gallery.

Here is my take on Shilo's layout...

I liked the circle/banner combo at the bottom of the layout so I used that for my inspiration. I used the Pink Paislee mistable trims for my banner and mixed in some of the My Mind's Eye garland. I love the look of the two of them combined!

It's National Scrapbook Day this weekend and there are plenty of online activities and local crops...will you be scrapping?

I wanted to scrap some photos of a day trip we made to the Minneapolis Mall of America last fall. We had a great time, found lots of bargains and did plenty of goofing off. To better tell my story, I changed the number of photos from 3 to 6, leaving the rest of the sketch the same.

Guess what everyone?! May has arrived! Yes, it is once again a new month and with it comes a new gallery at write. click. scrapbook. This month we are sharing layouts that celebrate the everyday moments in our life.

Last year, over Christmas break, the kids introduced Tim to the game "High Noon". He signed up as "Maximus Payneous" (which he can indeed be at times, lol) and has been engaging in shoot-outs and stealing gold ever since. Anytime I hear the games signature western music from another room, I know he is on his iPad and up to his usual cowboy shenanigans on his favorite game.

What I like about the gallery theme this month is that the one thing that is a constant today, most likely won't be 5 years from now (maybe even a year from now) and it is fun to look back on these pages and say "remember when".

So what about your daily life? What happens on a regular basis that you've been meaning to document but haven't yet? Go ahead a whip up a page, you'll love looking back on it
