Lily Bee Oh Happy Day layout

Hello everyone, I interupt Project Catch Up Week to bring you a layout that went up on the Lily Bee blog on Monday. The theme this week is pattern play. I wanted to use one of the background cut files I have with a repeating shape and settled on one with hearts. I thought it would be perfect for these photos of my daughter expressing her love for the beach with cartwheels.

I used a lot of white and kept the background simple by using small bits of patterned paper to keep the focus on the photos. I choose to do a white on white title for the same reason.

The journaling is attached to the back of the layout with a paper clip that is glued to the back of the white heart at the top of the page.

Noel Mignon projects

Hey everyone...welcome to day 2 of Project Catch Up week. In June I finished up my year with the Noel Mignon kit club and today I'm sharing 3 layouts that slipped through the cracks during the business of June and July.

First up is, Pure Joy made using the Country Lane kit.

I really LOVED the Elle's Studio stamp set that was included in this kit and used it on all my layouts for that month!

Next is a layout made using the Beach Blvd kit and a sketch from Page Maps.

I shared a tutorial on how I made the banner over on the Noel Mignon blog.

Last, but not least, The Terrific 2's, also made with the Beach Blvd kit.

Come On Get Crafty projects

This summer has been a whirwind full of fun things...vacations, softball, boating, and some fun creative things too...a fun team-up with Lily Bee and Gossamer Blue, Bella Blvd CHA booth projects, and my first contribution to an online class. Amidst all the fun my blogging fell a bit behind so I'm officially calling this "Project Catch Up Week" and I'll be posting new layouts everyday!

Today, I'm sharing a couple projects I made for Come on Get Crafty.

This layout features the American Crafts Mayberry collection, which is available in the Come On Get Crafty Shop. The flair is from {a flair for buttons} etsy shop.  

To soften the layout I placed a 12x12 sheet of vellum over the background paper.The pinwheels are handmade and I shared a little tutorial on how to make them over at the Come On Get Crafty blog, She's So Crafty.

This is a little stitched vellum pocket filled with glitter. :)

For this next layout, I wanted to share how to create a background that is similar to the die cut backgrounds that are so popular. This is great if you like the look of those backgrounds but don't have a die-cutting machine.

That's me on the far left, petting the new horse, Champion, that was born on my Grandpa's farm. :)

Come On Get Crafty Hello card

Hello everyone and happy Friday! I wanted to share a card I made using the Fancy Pants Trendsetter collection from Come On Get Crafty.

It came together quickly using the coordinating tags in the collection. The greeting was white and I colored it to help it stand out against the pastel background.

This is just one of four different Fancy Pants collections that is available in the Come On Get Crafty shop.

I'm a tad behind on sharing projects I've made since the beginning of June so next week I"ll be sharing lots of projects every single day. I hope you'll swing by each day for a little crafting.

Can you believe that August is just around the corner? Summer will be coming to a close and the kids will be heading back to school. It has flown by!

Speaking of flying by...I have a little sneak peak of my August layout for write. click. scrapbook with a super cute piece of airplane flair (no pun intended:)) from {a flair for buttons} and a cloud/sun rub-on from Amy Tangerine's American Craft collection.

I'll be sharing this entire layout with you on August 1st!

Lily Bee sketches revisited July

Today, over on the Lily Bee blog we are revisiting the July sketch. In addition to using the sketch, the theme for this week is splashes of color. You know how I love color, so I was excited about the theme!

Here is my layout based on the sketch.

Ok, if you looked at the sketch you are probably saying to yourself, "that doesn't look ANYTHING like the sketch" but I promise you, it was definitely inspired by it, lol. My original plan was to use one photo instead of three and place the title to the right of the photo, which I did. I also wanted to substitute the triangles with circles. As the layout progressed, the circles became smaller to mimic the flare in the photo and were just a scattering like confetti.

So there you have it...inspired by the sketch, but really doesn't look anything like it. The journaling came from something I pinned on Pinterest and was perfect for the summer theme of my layout.

write. click. scrapbook July sketch and A Flair for Buttons

Hey everyone, happy Monday! I have a really fun layout to share with you today...it features this awesome pairing of products.

How fun is that Super Hero flair and washi tape?! 

I decided to make a layout about what a great Dad my DH is to the kiddos...Super Dad!

Along with the Super Hero flair from {a flair for buttons} and the washi tape from Target I also used a few comic themed die cuts to help me embellish the page.

The design for my layout was inspired by the July sketch at write. click. scrapbook. This month, Christine Newman and I collaborated to bring you a sketch and die cut that were designed to be used together. I designed the sketch and Christine did the awesome free die cut.

Bella Blvd Christmas Countdown Reveal

Today Bella Blvd is revealing their final collection for Summer CHA 2013...Christmas Countdown!

I love the penguin paper and all the elf images in this collection...so cute! Here are a couple projects I made with Christmas Countdown.

My second project is a mini album featuring the antics of our elves!

I had a lot of fun putting this mini together with different sized pages and love seeing little bits of other pages behind the top page.

Bella Blvd Daily Chevies

Hey everyone! We're back with another Bella Blvd reveal. It's Daily Chevies & Everyday Bits...a super cute and versatile collection.

This is one of my favorite papers from the collection. Love the subtle gray triangles, great for a background or as an accent.

Here are a few layouts I made using the Daily Chevies & Everyday Bits collection.

I'll have to go back to the Texas State Fair this fall and check out the new Big Tex. I wonder how differently they built him after the tragic electrical fire that sent him up in blazes last year.

I recently came across an old photo of my hubby and I back when we were dating. We had posed for the camera in almost the exact same way 25 years later...it was a then and now layout just begging to be scrapped.

And my favorite girl...showing her love for frosting at a very young age. :)

Last, but not least, my dear friend and her hubby last November just before their first baby was born. I had the pleasure of taking some photos for them and this is one of my favorites.
