Gossamer Blue December Guest Designer part 2

Now that Christmas has come and gone I had a little more time to pull out my December Gossamer Blue kits and make a couple more layouts.

I was super excited to scrap the photo on this first layout. It features my friend's sweet little daughter, Fiona. She brought her over to my house earlier in the month and let me take some 1 year old photos of her. This was my favorite shot of the day...

All I could think of when I saw this photo was the phrase Fa La La, then I found the Fa La La with music notes in my die cut library and knew it would be perfect. I really love how it turned out. 

I used the Basics Journaling Cards to create the white patchwork design to the right of the photo. 

I used the heart stamp from the Main kit and stamped in vellum, then layered it over the Basic Grey banner. I love that stamp set...definitely a favorite in my stash.

Since it is the end of the year I thought it would be fun to create a "Year in Review" type of layout. The December Life Pages kit had some products that were perfect for this type of layout. I used the "Highlights" card along with a lot of other goodies that were included in the Life Pages kit.

On a side note...I wanted to use a photo of the entire family for the year in review layout and after going through my photos for the year I only had 2 photos of all four of us. Seriously?! I must ensure I get more photos of all of us together in 2014!

Come On Get Crafty Christmas Horse Layout

...and that's final! lol! That is exactly what my daughter said one sunny afternoon. I had to document it and the Glitz Design Wild & Free collection was perfect with the horse and heart die cuts.

Under the heart die cuts, I added some watercolor drips, just perfect for a young girl layout.

Glitz Designs Merry Halloween layout

Are there any other Halloween fans out there? I do love dressing up for Halloween...my hubby makes it so fun because he really does try to tap into the essence of his character. He made a GREAT Jack Sparrow! Well, he was a pretty awesome vampire too (Edward/Jacob who? lol)!

For this layout showcasing our two costumes over the years I used the Raven collection from Glitz Design along with a piece of Hashtag Halloween flair from {a flair for buttons}.

Here is how it turned out...

For the  star background I used a stencil with my gold Gelato crayon and added in a few gold sequin stars a handful of black acrylic stars.

Now I'm anxiously awaiting the next Halloween party invite to dream up a new costume...a whole new me for one night.

Can you believe December is here? That means only 24 more shopping days until Christmas and a new gallery at write. click. scrapbook. So, before you go into panic mode thinking about everything you must do before Christmas take a few minutes to peruse a few layouts about traditions.

I scrapped a photo of my sister and I having "Twas the Night Before Christmas" read to us by Dad. This happened every year on Christmas Eve and was one of my favorite things.

I used the Hello December collection by Glitz Design for my layout and added in some gold embellishments. The flair is from {a flair for buttons}.

Here are a few close-ups... 

I added the text using my Cameo. If you've never used your Cameo for printing text, it is super easy. Simply type your text in the Silhouette software, add your paper to the mat, switch out the blade for one of the pens and select Sketch Pen instead of Cut.

This works best with thin fonts. There are a few in the Silhouette store or you can purchase them from Lettering Delights. Check out this Silhouette tutorial for more instructions using the sketch pens with your Cameo.
