A Flair For Buttons | Sweet Dreams

Happy Friday everyone! I've been busy creating some layouts and I'm sharing one I made for {a flair for buttons} today. I decided to use my Messy Box kit along with my flair and when I finished I realized one of the other embellishments I used was from one of Elsie's first scrapbook lines, Love Elsie. So this is the result when {a flair for buttons} flair, Messy Box and Love Elsie meet...

When my daughter was younger I liked to sneak into her room after she fell asleep. A sleeping child always looks younger and more innocent when they are sleeping so how could I resist taking some pictures? I used the "once upon a time" flair as a lead in for my journaling. 

I used the circle paper tissue and hearts to create a border under the photo. This is where the new Elsie products from A Beautiful Mess Messy Box meets the old Love Elsie products...the soft rubber frame charm is from the Love Elsie Claire collection. I finished off my border with a bow and another piece of flair.

I used the Just Words 3 flair which is available in the {a flair for buttons} shop.

All You Need Is Love | A Flair For Buttons

I'm a scrapbook supply junkie! It's true! Yes, I know that scrapbooking is about getting the story down on paper, but often time the way my layout comes together is completely inspired by products...embellishments and paper. GASP!

The new Messy Box kit from A Beautiful Mess launched and since I've been a huge Elsie fan every since her first scrapbook releases (still have them in my stash) I had to get it. Add in some flair from {a flair for buttons} and a few bits and pieces from my March Gossamer Blue kits and you could say I was completely inspired! Here is what I came up with for my layout.

I really had a lot of fun putting this together. It is just my style...fun, colorful and whimsical!

No story for this one, I've already scrapped a similar photo...this one was purely for the joy of creating something and getting a little messy! :)

I can hardly believe that we are already a month into 2015 and February is upon us. The first day of the month has been my favorite day each month for the last three years with a new gallery reveal at write. click. scrapbook. Many of my favorite layouts have been created for those reveals, but today will be my last reveal as a contributor as I am stepping down from the team. 

The gallery theme this month is all about love, which is completely fitting with Valentine's Day this month. As I dug through my photos I ran across a picture of myself in grade school with a homemade Valentine's Day box. I remember making it like it was yesterday. It was covered in white butcher paper and embellished with heart doilies, die cuts, and glitter. I was so proud of that box and couldn't wait to take it to school. I love the photo so much and decided to put a little twist on the theme and use that photo to document my "love" of playing with paper and glue. The glitter…well not so much anymore. It's more of a love/hate relationship with glitter nowadays.

A Flair For Buttons | Hola Layout

Hey everyone! I'm sharing a layout I made for {a flair for buttons}! It features my adorable DH when he was a babe. :) I had lots of fun putting this one together...it includes my favorite things, colorful paper with a bit of black for contrast and gold (which I still have not grown tired of), and of course, flair!

I used four different blocks of color to coordinate with the "Hola!" flair. As I was purging and going through my stash I found lots of letter stickers. I need to use them up so you'll be seeing some more layouts with them incorporated as a design element like I did here.

Organizers with Flair

Hey everyone! I have a fun DYI organizer that you can make with all that pretty patterned paper that I know you have in your stash!

I found these cute title and divider pages in my stash. It spurred the entire idea to make an organizer to help keep me on track with things to do, projects, stuff I need to get and notes in general.

Divide & Conquer...how genius is that?!  And with the ampersand flair...too cute!

I started by cutting the little hooks off the ends.

Next, I selected the paper for my inside pages. Instead of regular copy paper, I decided to use patterned paper since I have an abundant supply. :)

Once I had selected my paper, I sorted it into colors to coordinate with the tabs. I selected 10 sheets per section.

I cut each page the same size as the divider pages, stamped titles onto the tabs and bound the book with my Bind It All. For the finishing touch I added an ampersand flair, from the Ampersand Flair set, over the existing one printed on the cover for the perfect finishing touch.

On the inside pages I added copy paper to the pages that I thought would be difficult to see writing on, adhering it with washi tape.

Below are just a few pages from each of the sections.

I can't wait to start using my organizer, making to-do lists, and jotting down notes. I hope this will inspire you to dig into your stash and make an organizer that fits your needs too! Hello Senior Year Layout | A Flair For Buttons

I can hardly believe that it is September and the kids are back in school...one Monday, one started college and one started her Senior year. How time flies by! This month the theme for the gallery at write. click. scrapbook is Back to School II, so I decided to document the very last "first day of school" for my daughter.

I used some number, letter and star papers to go with the school theme and some flair from {a flair for button} for embellishing.

Hi everyone! After a bit of a summer blogging break, I'm baaaack! Feeling refreshed and ready to go. I'm a bit behind on sharing projects so I have many from the last couple months that I'll be sharing over the month of August but today I have a brand spankin' new layout that I made for the August gallery at write. click. scrapbook. The theme this month is "the best" so I decided to create a layout of my hubby and what he means to me after 25 years of marriage.

I used my usual favorites...flair from {a flair for buttons}, gold accents, and some new cut files from The Cut Shoppe!

I adhered the gold rimmed labels to a piece of paper, fed it into my typewriter and added my journaling. Each label is embellished with a piece of flair and gem stones in a coordinating color.

We are bringing in May at write. click. scrapbook with layouts about our everyday! Today marks a new chapter in my career so I decided to do a layout about how my everyday is changing this month. I'm trading my office job for one in the sky and heading back to flying, hence the name of my layout, "Trading Spaces".

 

I used lots of bits and pieces from my stash and had lots of fun picking out all the goodies. The flair is from {a flair for buttons}.
