Today, I have my first project to share with you using the new Fresh Picked kit from Scrapbook Circle. For my assignment, I was asked to showcase the Pink Paislee Wood Shop letters.
I love how easy it is to customize the color of wood letters using mists and really like the larger size of this style. For my assignment I decided to use them to make a piece of artwork for my home.
I colored the letters using Studio Calico's Mister Huey's in Atmosphere and Schoolhouse. Once they were dry, I adhered them to a sheet of 8 x 10 cardstock and inserted it into an unused frame I had sitting around the house. I'm looking forward to displaying this in February to celebrate Valentine's Day.
The idea for my project came from a piece of clearance artwork I saw at TJ Maxx a couple weeks ago.
I'm not sure what the original price was but it was marked down to $15.00 on clearance. I was able to make this for the cost of half a package of alphabet letters, about $2.50. Not bad, huh?!
Ok, this is where the the fun part comes in. See those buttons in the sidebar? The one labeled "Everyday Inspiration" is where I will file projects that are inspired by something I see. It could be a piece of art, clothing, or an ad, you get the idea, and with Pinterest, I'm sure I can add many projects to this feature in no time.
When you're out and about or on-line if you see something that sparks an idea or you want to copy, take a photo of it with your phone or save it to Pinterest and use the piece to inspire you in your next layout or project. If you play along I would love to see what you make.
I hope this has you thinking out of the box when it comes to ideas for using your stash of alphabet letters. To see even more ideas using the Pink Paislee letters, head over to the Idea gallery at Scrapbook Circle. The design team came up with lots of fun projects to inspire you!
Thanks for swing by, have a fabulous day!
