Lily Bee Coming Soon layout

Do you ever have an idea on your mind for a long time and it feels so good when you can finally get it on paper? That is exactly how I felt about this photo I'm using for the layout I'm sharing on my today.

It is one of my favorite photos I took for my girlfriend when she was pregnant a year ago. I just love those baby shoes in between the expecting Mom and Dad, waiting to be filled by their little girl!

I used the We R Family collection from Lily Bee to create my layout.

Here are a few close-ups. 

For the circle element in the sketch I used a Metal Badge and the banner pieces were substituted with wood veneers.

I also substituted the dot on my "i" in the title with a wood veneer heart.

About that little girl filling those shoes, she's a year old now and is adorable!

Come On Get Crafty I Love You layout

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a layout with you a made a couple months back for a sketch class at Come On Get Crafty.

I used a selfie I took of my hubby and I while we were on our annual "flu shot lunch date" and I'm hoping that that shot sticks and we don't get the nasty flu bug this season.

Lily Bee Cards

Hi everyone! I'm up today with two new cards that I created for Lily Bee using their We R Family and Urban Autumn collections. I used the same design for each card, but used stars as a design element for one card and circle/hearts on the other card.

Lily Bee We R Family cards

Hi everyone! I have the new We R Family collection in my hands and made a couple quick cards with the papers and coordinating stamp set. Love, love, love the stamps, I know I'll be using these a lot.

For the first card I made an all occasion card that will be great for a family member.

For the second card, I used the stamp set and patterned papers to create a Birthday card.

I really enjoyed creating with this new collection...super fun and versatile! Definitely a new favorite. You can read more about these cards over on the Lily Bee Blog. Make sure you visit all week long to see more creations using the We R Family collection.

Lily Bee Mixed Media Layout

The theme on the Lily Bee blog this week is mixed media. It is a little out of my norm so I signed up to push myself to try something new. There are so many different techniques and interesting things to do for mixed media art but in the end I decided to give melting crayons a go.

Crayons remind me of my childhood and small children in general so I decided to scrap a photo of my daughter at her pre-k graduation to tie in with the elementary theme.

Here is what I came up with.

To create the dripped wax effect, I adhered crayons in the colors I wanted to a scrap piece of paper and then taped the scrap paper directly above where I wanted the dripped wax. I heated the crayons with my heat tool until they began to drip down my page and stopped when I had the look I wanted.

Lily Bee Hello Cards

We're showcasing "large elements" over on the Lily Bee blog this week. For my cards I decided to use some of the largest chipboard sticker elements.

Here is what I came up with...

In additional to the large butterfly chipboard sticker, I incorporate a large doily and banner.

For my next card I created a sky scene using the large cloud chipboard stickers and a sweet kite that I hand cut.

Lily Bee Back to School Layout

Are you ready for summer to end and the kiddos to head back to school? I must admit, I'm feeling excited and sad all at the same time. My oldest is a Senior this year and I'm feeling a little sad that this is the last year I will get to watch him play football and wrestle, but at the same time excited for him and all the fun activities that he will enjoy in his final year.

I know you'll be taking lots of photos as you send your kids back to school. We're sharing "Back to School" projects over on the Lily Bee blog this week to help you get those photos scrapped! I used the Pinwheel collection along with a bit of paper from the Destinations collection for my layout.

I scrapped a photo of my Mom back when she was starting Kindergarten. I love the details in the photo from days gone by, like the old car, lunch pail and my Mom's clothing.

To tie in with the theme I typed some school themed captions and my journaling on the label stickers.

Lily Bee Oh Happy Day layout

Hello everyone, I interupt Project Catch Up Week to bring you a layout that went up on the Lily Bee blog on Monday. The theme this week is pattern play. I wanted to use one of the background cut files I have with a repeating shape and settled on one with hearts. I thought it would be perfect for these photos of my daughter expressing her love for the beach with cartwheels.

I used a lot of white and kept the background simple by using small bits of patterned paper to keep the focus on the photos. I choose to do a white on white title for the same reason.

The journaling is attached to the back of the layout with a paper clip that is glued to the back of the white heart at the top of the page.

Lily Bee sketches revisited July

Today, over on the Lily Bee blog we are revisiting the July sketch. In addition to using the sketch, the theme for this week is splashes of color. You know how I love color, so I was excited about the theme!

Here is my layout based on the sketch.

Ok, if you looked at the sketch you are probably saying to yourself, "that doesn't look ANYTHING like the sketch" but I promise you, it was definitely inspired by it, lol. My original plan was to use one photo instead of three and place the title to the right of the photo, which I did. I also wanted to substitute the triangles with circles. As the layout progressed, the circles became smaller to mimic the flare in the photo and were just a scattering like confetti.

So there you have it...inspired by the sketch, but really doesn't look anything like it. The journaling came from something I pinned on Pinterest and was perfect for the summer theme of my layout.

Lily Bee Father's Day cards

Happy Friday everyone! I have a few Lily Bee projects to share with you today. The first is my final layout for the Lily Bee and Gossamer Blue June kit team-up. It features lots of Lily Bee paper, stickers and embellishments mixed in with some paper and embellishments from Crate Paper in the June kit.

I really had fun mixing and matching papers and piecing them together on this layout of my Mom riding a carousel ride.

I also created a couple Father's Day cards for the Lily Bee blog this week.

The first was was super easy to make, I simply punched some tabs in various patterns and added a word that describes Dad to each one using some Lily Bee letter stickers.

This second card was inspired by the world flair in the Destination embellishment pack.

Father's Day is this Sunday...are you ready? It isn't too late to whip up a card and it means so much more than one that is store bought.
