I can hardly believe that we are already a month into 2015 and February is upon us. The first day of the month has been my favorite day each month for the last three years with a new gallery reveal at write. click. scrapbook. Many of my favorite layouts have been created for those reveals, but today will be my last reveal as a contributor as I am stepping down from the team. 

The gallery theme this month is all about love, which is completely fitting with Valentine's Day this month. As I dug through my photos I ran across a picture of myself in grade school with a homemade Valentine's Day box. I remember making it like it was yesterday. It was covered in white butcher paper and embellished with heart doilies, die cuts, and glitter. I was so proud of that box and couldn't wait to take it to school. I love the photo so much and decided to put a little twist on the theme and use that photo to document my "love" of playing with paper and glue. The glitter…well not so much anymore. It's more of a love/hate relationship with glitter nowadays.

Organizers with Flair

Hey everyone! I have a fun DYI organizer that you can make with all that pretty patterned paper that I know you have in your stash!

I found these cute title and divider pages in my stash. It spurred the entire idea to make an organizer to help keep me on track with things to do, projects, stuff I need to get and notes in general.

Divide & Conquer...how genius is that?!  And with the ampersand flair...too cute!

I started by cutting the little hooks off the ends.

Next, I selected the paper for my inside pages. Instead of regular copy paper, I decided to use patterned paper since I have an abundant supply. :)

Once I had selected my paper, I sorted it into colors to coordinate with the tabs. I selected 10 sheets per section.

I cut each page the same size as the divider pages, stamped titles onto the tabs and bound the book with my Bind It All. For the finishing touch I added an ampersand flair, from the Ampersand Flair set, over the existing one printed on the cover for the perfect finishing touch.

On the inside pages I added copy paper to the pages that I thought would be difficult to see writing on, adhering it with washi tape.

I can't wait to start using my organizer, making to-do lists, and jotting down notes. I hope this will inspire you to dig into your stash and make an organizer that fits your needs too! Hello Senior Year Layout | A Flair For Buttons

I can hardly believe that it is September and the kids are back in school...one Monday, one started college and one started her Senior year. How time flies by! This month the theme for the gallery at write. click. scrapbook is Back to School II, so I decided to document the very last "first day of school" for my daughter.

I used some number, letter and star papers to go with the school theme and some flair from {a flair for button} for embellishing.

Hi everyone! After a bit of a summer blogging break, I'm baaaack! Feeling refreshed and ready to go. I'm a bit behind on sharing projects so I have many from the last couple months that I'll be sharing over the month of August but today I have a brand spankin' new layout that I made for the August gallery at write. click. scrapbook. The theme this month is "the best" so I decided to create a layout of my hubby and what he means to me after 25 years of marriage.

I used my usual favorites...flair from {a flair for buttons}, gold accents, and some new cut files from The Cut Shoppe!

I adhered the gold rimmed labels to a piece of paper, fed it into my typewriter and added my journaling. Each label is embellished with a piece of flair and gem stones in a coordinating color.

We are bringing in May at write. click. scrapbook with layouts about our everyday! Today marks a new chapter in my career so I decided to do a layout about how my everyday is changing this month. I'm trading my office job for one in the sky and heading back to flying, hence the name of my layout, "Trading Spaces".

 

I used lots of bits and pieces from my stash and had lots of fun picking out all the goodies. The flair is from {a flair for buttons}.

Yes, it's true...I love color, and flair, and puffy stickers, and buttons, and fabric and bows, and mist too! They are my favorite things when I scrap. They make me smile!

I thought it would be fitting to do a layout about my love for color for the "Starring Me" theme for the April gallery at write. click. scrapbook.

So there you have it...all my favorites lined up on one this one layout. Definitely puts a smile on my face!

write. click. scrapbook and Gossamer Blue mini album

Hi everyone, it is mini madness this month over at write. click. scrapbook and I was lucky enough to get to create a mini album with the beautiful Gossamer Blue March kit. It included a great selection of papers from Chickaniddy Crafts (including their fabulous gold foil paper), Webster Pages, Gossamer Blue exclusive papers, My Mind's Eye and more. It also featured some fun charms, an assortment of stickers, twine, enamel stickers, chipboard alpha, some fabulous exclusive printables and cut files and a small gold ink pad.

I loved the soft girly colors which inspired me to create a mini album using a handful of some favorite photos of my daughter from a couple years ago.

 

The Cover

For the cover, I cut two pieces of chipboard and covered them with fabric. Once the fabric was secured in place I sewed a ribbon to the front and back of the album to hold the front and back together and also used to tie the album closed.

The title was inspired by the fun March themed "Lucky" cut file included with kit. I placed it along the bottom and embellished the white space at the top of my photo with a string of garland made from the gold foil paper and cream/gold string. 

 

Inside Pockets

The inside pages are stored inside envelope pockets. I sealed each envelope and then cut one end open. I stacked the envelopes together, with the open end facing out and  glued them together so they would open like an accordian. To finish it off, I glued the inside of the album cover to the top envelope and glued the inside of the back cover to the bottom envelope.

 

Page Inserts

I had a total of six pocket envelopes, so I cut six pieces of paper slightly smaller than the size of the envelopes and used those for the base of each photo. To complete each page, I layered patterned paper, stickers, enamel stickers, and die cuts. I also adhered a piece of paper or die cut extended from the edge of each base to use as a tab to make it easier to pull the page out of the pocket.

I had already created a couple layouts with stories about my daughter using two of these photos so this album was perfect for simply showcasing some favorite photos.

France Altered Book Mini Album

Can you believe that it is already March? Nope, me either! March means mini-madness over at write. click. scrapbook I knew I wanted to put together a mini album of my France trip from last June. Armed with some AWESOME flair from {a flair for buttons}, along with my latest photo app, Waterlogue, I was ready to get to work.

I started by turning a highlight from from our trip into watercolor prints using the Waterlogue app. Next, I printed them on muslin fabric. To print on fabric, spray a piece of card stock with re-positionable adhesive, lay the fabric on the card stock and trim off the excess fabric. Feed the paper/fabric, through your printer following any special instructions in your user manual. That's all there is to it...I was surprised by how easy it is to do.

For the cover, I painted some Gesso around the edges and topped it off with some gold ink and some black ink splatters. I layered on a map background, my fabric print and my embellishments and title.

I finally busted into the Heidi Swapp resist paper I had in my stash for the title page and a couple other pages too! I LOVE them...I really should have tried using them sooner!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I didn't have room on most of my pages for journaling so I used tags in coordinating colors and tucked them in between the pages.

I'll be doing some regular scrapbook pages of my trip, but it was really fun using watercolor prints for the highlights of the trip in this mini album.

Come On Get Crafty Pocket Insert Cards

Hello, hello! I wanted to share with you some cards I've made recently using pocket inserts. These smaller size pocket inserts have fun designs and sayings that are perfect for using on a regular sized card.

 

Birthday Card

The owl flair was perfect for adding a clever owl greeting in the speech bubble. If you love owls as much as I do make sure you check out my list of clever owl greetings.  

 

Christmas Card

This simple Christmas greeting used basic background designs for the base of the card.  

 

Cheery Spring Card 

I made this just for all my friends that are buried in snow...a perfect little spring card to brighten your day. I hope you all thaw out soon! 

This one features the use of 4 different pocket cards, a 4x6 card trimmed down, two 2x3 cards and the flowers were cut out of a 4th card.

All of these cards feature products from the Come On Get Crafty shop.

Growing up I had a small bulletin board in my room. I loved pinning things I pulled out of magazines, notes/reminders and memorabilia onto the board. My love for bulletin boards still exists today, but I've gone virtual with Pinterest! I visit Pinterest every single day and "pin" all the ideas, tips, recipes, travel destinations and anything else that catches my eye on my 54 boards (and growing). The best thing about Pinterest is that I can access all those things I've collected when out and about. Comes in pretty handy when shopping, I even ask my kids to make their Christmas wish list on Pinterest. :)

I've had the idea for a long time to do a page about Pinterest when I had a piece of cork board paper land in my stash. When I learned the February gallery theme at write. click. scrapbook was technology I knew it was time to pull it out and make the page.

I filled the cork board paper with screen captures of some of my Pinterest boards layered up with patterned paper, flair, brads and stamped images.

The bottom of the layout details statistics on the number of boards, pins, followers and who I'm following along with some things that I love about Pinterest.

Here are a few detail shots.

The amazing cork board flair is from the Cork 2 Flair set and Maps 2 Flair set from {a flair for buttons} .

I used two super cute stamp sets. The arrow stamp is from the December Main Kit from Gossamer Blue and the pin images are from Studio Calico.

For the arrow images, I stamped the name of the board (or abbreviation so it would fit) on a piece of white card stock, then I inked up my arrow stamp and lined it up so the typed word would be in the arrow and stamped the image.

Last, but not least, here are the fun statistics from my account.
